James Gregg

James is a TV and radio presenter and is the lead commentator on Eurosport/Discovery’s coverage of the PGA Tour. He’s also formed part of The BBC 5live commentary team at the Open and Ryder Cup since 2021.

James cut his teeth on local TV and commercial radio in Leeds before joining the BBC in 2015 as part of the 5Live team and working on the World Service. He regularly appears on Radio 2 and Radio 1 NewsBeat as the Sports Presenter and across the World Service and 5Live. 

James has covered three Test tours of England abroad and also hosts the UK’s No 1 Cricket podcast, The Barmy Army.

As well as now being the weekend sports presenter on 5Live breakfast, last year James headed Down Under for the Women’s World Cup and broadcasted live from Centre Court ahead of both Wimbledon finals.

As well as being scratch golfer, James is an ambassador for Sheffield Children’s Hospital.
