Mike McCarthy

Mike is a TV and radio commentator with over a decade of experience in sports broadcasting. 

His commentary credits include ITV’s EFL Highlights show, talkSPORT2, talkSPORT International and BBC local radio. He’s a familiar voice reporting on football for the likes of talkSPORT and the BBC World Service. He also works as a broadcaster and producer for the BBC’s radio sports news team, appearing frequently on 5Live, BBC Radio 4, Radio 2 and the World Service.

Mike began his broadcasting career with the BBC, first in Leicester, and then in Sheffield, where he was part of the Football Heaven team commentating on matches from the Premier League to the National League. He also hosted BBC Radio Sheffield’s iconic football phone-in “Praise or Grumble”.
